PROJECT SUMMARY

How can I make a lego plane that has every single function so it looks like a realistic one and make improvements? What could the improvements be?

Update: This is a better version of an a330 or jet. My question was: How can a make a plane that cannot crash? I knew the qualities of an airplane that could make it crash, so I modified it a bit.

WHY?

First, I like planes a lot. Another reason is that planes can have a lot of fails, sometimes, even fatal. So I found some ways to fix them, or at least a lot.

HOW?

First I looked at the properties of planes and the bad things they have. Then I created a Lego model and then I thought of ways to improve some things. I researched some random not-so-convenient parts of an airplane. Then I fixed it so it could be better than the original.

WHAT?

My result is a plane. I decided to build a model of a bettered Airbus A310 using my engineering abilities to solve construction problems like the movement of flaps. My final result is a modified airplane. The stabilizers are different than the original plane, the nose is longer too.

SO WHAT?

The result is important because it shows that the improved flaps made using just design prove that you can create something spectacular with even the smallest building toy. It shows the children only need raw materials and imagination to create whatever they want to have. My conclusions are that if the plane was real it would be super, incredibly rare if it crashed once. The whole thing was super planned.

WHAT'S NEXT?

If I had more bricks I could build the whole machinery for the plane like the inside of engines. I could have made it smaller so I didn't run out of bricks. Also, I would have made it longer if it was smaller.

I just like planes, and love to study them. I also think everything can be built. I got all my ideas from my brain and internet. The people that suppported me were my mom, my dad and my brother, thanks to them I made the idea possile.

JUDGES FEEDBACK

This is a great example of using basic building materials to create something of value. Futhermore, it's a chance to model basic aerodynamic processes in existing aircraft models. I would love to see this plane in some sort of a test environment to tell if the flaps, nose cone, and other components contribute to it's overall aerodynamic properties.
