The problem we’ve been working on is about fighting nicotine addiction. Specially pods and vapes.
Vaping has become something “common”, especially among teens and young adults, due to flavored products, striking designs, and the perception that it's safer than smoking. However, the reality is that it leads to serious nicotine addiction.
We wanted to fix this because we’re the future and it’s disappointing how some people are not aware of this so they can finally quit vaping.
We chose to work on the issue of nicotine addictions specifically because of its popularity among teens and young adults.
What we did first was research smoking habits and the psychological areas where we could offer help and in what ways. We created a mind map in which we listed different solutions or approaches to support them, and we decided to focus on podcasts. We chose podcasts because we believed that oral communication would be an easier and more effective way to reach people. The platform we chose to build prototype on is Figma.
After testing our prototype, we concluded that there were positive responses from users. However, we believe there is room to add more interactive tools, which would make the app more comprehensive and engaging.
Our results show that accessible, motivational content, such as podcasts, can be an effective tool in supporting people who want to quit smoking. Through this project, we learned that simple, low-cost solutions, like our app, can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those struggling with addiction, especially for those who cannot afford traditional therapies.
We would implement changes to improve both the users experience and the effectiveness of helping people. Our approach would include personalized support, educational campaigns, and technology to track progress. If we were to develop or improve products, we would focus on making them more appealing, effective, and safe for consumers. Also, we would redesign our logo to create a new image that attracts the users.
AG’s father was essential to our project, as he provided us with several tools and resources, . We are grateful for his support and guidance throughout the project and our Teachers.
