2025 STEAM EXPO

PROJECT SUMMARY

I worked on doing a 3d model of a volcano. I also did a simulation of a volcanic eruption with vinegar and baking soda. After i did the expiriment, i found out that it did erupt but barely.

WHY?

My question was: Will the volcano be able to erupt with baking soda and vinegar? I wanted to do this question because it is very fun to try to make things explode.

HOW?

1, Make the model with cardboard paper and a bottle. 2, Find out if it is better to do it with Mentos and Coke or with Vinegar and Baking soda. 3, Make the experiment (mix the vinegar with baking soda)

WHAT?

I found out that you can make a simulation of a volcanic eruption with baking soda and vinegar. It did work, but we thought it would be a bigger explotion.

SO WHAT?

So baking soda and vinegar make the efect of a volcanic eruption. It is easy and fun to do it.

WHAT'S NEXT?

I could add more vingear or baking soda for the explotion to be bigger. I can also try to do it with coke and mentos insted.
