PROJECT SUMMARY

Our prototype is an application called SAFE DRIVE. We chose traffic as the problem because some traffic lights only allow about 4 or 3 cars to pass and then turn red, causing people to arrive late to places. For our solution, we decided to create an app so that people who use their cell phones while driving know when the traffic light is green or red and when a traffic light is not functioning.

WHY?

First, on "MIRO," which is a whiteboard web page, we brainstormed ideas about the problems. After choosing a problem, we thought about what we could do to solve that problem, which was traffic. After that, we started by sketching our prototype in Miro to get an idea of what it would look like. Once we finished the sketch, we began creating the prototype in Figma, and we also made our presentation in Canva.

HOW?

We started by brainstorming about the problems we could use and ended up choosing traffic. After choosing the problem, we wrote about why we chose that problem and how we thought we could solve it.

We began creating our sketch for the prototype on Miro. In Miro, we designed how the prototype would look and function. Once we had a clear idea of how it would be, we started building the prototype in Figma.

Stage 1: Ideation and Project Planning

In this stage, we planned the project and brainstormed problems, then sought a solution for the problem while confirming that it didn't already exist.

Stage 2: Prototype Development

In this stage, we used Figma to create a prototype of our app, searched for images on Google to complete the prototype, and found a name and logo for the app.

Stage 3: Project Finalization and Presentation

Upon completing the project, we used Canva to present our idea to others and explain why we chose this problem.

WHAT?

We encountered several obstacles because at first, we didn't know how to use Miro or Figma, so we had to start from scratch. Additionally, we sometimes had internet problems, so we couldn't always work together. Despite all the obstacles we faced, it was worth it because we learned new things. For example, we learned how to create a prototype.

One thing we liked was that we learned how to work as a team and also learned to use new platforms. Figma was the platform that proved most challenging for us because we didn't even know what a prototype was. In the end, only two members of our team were able to create the prototype because they understood how to use Figma better

SO WHAT?

We learned that creating prototypes helps us understand how to design, what to consider, and what we want our app to have or be like.

WHAT'S NEXT?

Many times, we changed our design and had to figure out which screens to use. We did this in Miro, which took a lot of time because we then had to transfer everything to Figma. We could draw the screens on paper beforehand, and we want to keep improving the prototype so that we can finalize the idea and create the app.
