I created STEAMPY (link here), a website designed to promote STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities and projects in Paraguay. The site serves as a centralized platform where students, educators, and enthusiasts can find resources, events, and inspiration related to STEAM fields.
As a 10th-grade student passionate about STEAM, I wanted to encourage more young people in Paraguay to explore these fields. By creating STEAMPY, I aimed to make it easier for students to engage with STEAM activities, learn about ongoing projects, and feel part of a growing community that values innovation and creativity.
I used Wix to design and build the website, ensuring it was user-friendly and visually appealing. The site includes sections on upcoming events, educational resources, and showcases of student projects. I researched local STEAM initiatives and collaborated with educators to gather content that would be relevant and inspiring for Paraguayan students.
Through this project, I learned the importance of accessibility and community in education. I discovered that many students are eager to participate in STEAM activities but lack the information or support to get started. By providing a centralized platform, I could help bridge that gap and foster a more connected STEAM community in Paraguay.
STEAMPY has the potential to increase participation in STEAM fields among Paraguayan youth by making resources and opportunities more visible and accessible. It supports educational equity by providing information to students regardless of their location or background, encouraging a more diverse and inclusive STEAM environment.
In the future, I plan to expand STEAMPY by adding interactive features such as forums, project submission portals, and virtual workshops. I also aim to collaborate with schools and organizations to keep the content updated and relevant, ensuring that the platform continues to serve as a valuable resource for the STEAM community in Paraguay.
I would like to thank my teachers and peers who supported me throughout this project. Their feedback and encouragement were invaluable in bringing STEAMPY to life.
