I worked on designing a personalized 3D keychain using Tinkercad. I wanted to create something that shows who I am and can be printed in real life. I also wanted to learn how to design using 3D modeling tools. The goal was to make a keychain that looks cool and has meaning.
I did this project because I wanted to learn how to design with Tinkercad and turn my ideas into something real. I was trying to figure out how to combine shapes, text, and decorations into one strong and balanced design. I also wanted to solve the problem of how to make sure it prints correctly and fits on a keychain.
First, I made a sketch of my keychain on paper. Then, I opened Tinkercad and created the base shape. I added my initials in the center, made a hole for the keyring, and tested out some decorations. I used tools in Tinkercad to move, group, and resize the shapes to make sure everything looked right.
I found out that alignment and size are really important when making a 3D design. After getting feedback, I fixed some parts that were off-center and added more shapes. My final design looked much better after the changes. I also learned how to center objects and measure them correctly in Tinkercad.
My results matter because they show that even small changes can make a big improvement in a design. I learned how to take feedback and use it to make my project stronger. This experience helped me understand how 3D modeling works and why it's important to plan and test your work.
Next time, I want to try using different colors and maybe add textures or patterns to my design. I could also try making a set of matching keychains or include other symbols that are meaningful to me. I’d like to learn more about lighting and advanced shapes in Tinkercad to make my projects even cooler.
I found examples of 3D keychains online to get inspired. L gave me helpful feedback about adding more detail to my design. Thank you to my teacher for showing us how to use Tinkercad and helping us during the project.
