Our project is called Ta’aro, which means hope in Guarani. It’s a website we created to connect people who need help with people who want to help. Users can fill out a short form to ask for or offer help, and their responses appear on the site so others can contact them. We wanted to use technology to build a simple and kind tool for our community.
We wanted to make a difference using technology. Our idea was to build a website that can help people communicate when they need help or want to help. We believe even small actions can create big change. Helping others makes the world a better place, and we wanted to be part of that.
We used Wix to build the website. First, we designed the main pages and made it easy to use. Then, we created two forms: one for people who need help, and one for people who want to help. These forms send the information to a page that updates with new requests and offers, so people can contact each other directly.
We found out that building a useful website takes a lot of thinking and testing. We had to try different designs and fix problems with how the forms worked. We also realized how important it is to make the site simple, safe, and clear. We were excited to see how people understood and liked the idea!
Our project shows how technology can be used for kindness and community support. We learned to think like designers and solve real problems. It also helped us grow as a team, we listened to each other’s ideas, divided tasks, and worked together to build something meaningful.
We want to improve the project by adding a map feature to show where help is needed. We’d also like to include other languages besides Spanish and English so more people can use it. In the future, we hope to work with schools or organizations to make the website better and more known.
We used our own ideas, and we thank the maker lab for guiding us and helping us stay organized.
