PROJECT SUMMARY
What I did was a rocket just out of cardboard. I also used other recources like tape and plastic but most of it is from cardboard.
WHY?
I did this proyect because I thought that I would have fun doing this proyect. I also did it because it was an assigment to do in my steam class.
HOW?
Creating a rocket out of cardboard involved several steps. First, I sketched out the design, considering factors like stability and aerodynamics. Then, I cut out the cardboard pieces according to the design and assembled them using glue and tape. I iteratively refined the design, making adjustments based on testing and observation until achieving a functional and visually appealing final product.
WHAT?
The cardboard rocket prototype demonstrated promising results. It was able to achieve reasonable stability and flight trajectory when launched. However, there were areas for improvement, particularly in optimizing the aerodynamic design for better performance. While no statistical analysis was conducted for this physical prototype, qualitative observations and feedback were gathered to inform future iterations and improvements.
SO WHAT?
The results of the cardboard rocket prototype are important as they validate the feasibility of using simple materials to create functional models. This approach offers a cost-effective and accessible way to engage in hands-on experimentation and learning about rocketry principles. From these results, it's evident that iterative design and testing are crucial for refining prototypes and enhancing performance.
WHAT'S NEXT?
To extend the project, I could explore using different materials or construction techniques to improve the rocket's performance and durability. Additionally, incorporating electronic components like sensors or a small propulsion system could enhance functionality and enable more sophisticated experiments. Future iterations could also involve collaborating with others to share insights and leverage diverse expertise in rocketry and engineering.
REFERENCES & ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
While creating the cardboard rocket prototype, I drew inspiration from various sources such as online tutorials, educational resources on rocketry principles, and prior knowledge gained from studying physics and engineering concepts. However, specific references were not used in the development of this particular project as it was a hands-on experimentation process. Nonetheless, I acknowledge the collective knowledge and guidance from the broader online community and educational materials that inform my understanding of rocket design and experimentation.
JUDGES FEEDBACK
It's clear that there is ample writing here for your project, but limited visuals giving evidence to the cardboard rocket that you created. I would encourage you to ensure that both your written and visual evidence matches to ensure that the project is clearly presented. The one visual that is here clearly doesnt look anything like a completed rocket, so it would be interested to know which part you are sharing.
