PROJECT SUMMARY

Our problem is that there's always a queue at our school cafeteria, and many students end up not eating due to the long lines. Our project is called "Delicias del Sol - The Hungry Corner!" Our solution was to create a prototype of an app to pre-order your meal a day in advance, thus avoiding these long lines and allowing everyone to have their snack on time.

WHY?

Because we want to improve the service at the cafeteria, we wondered how we could do that because sometimes students can't make it to their classes on time and might miss their snack.

HOW?

We gathered for a brainstorming session using the Miro platform, utilizing both our computers and tablets to ensure everyone's participation. After an intense brainstorming session, we mapped out our ideas and plans on Miro for better organization and visualization. Once we had a clear path forward, we delved into creating the prototype using the powerful tools offered by Figma. With this collaborative and technological approach, we not only conceptualized our ideas but also materialized them into a solid and functional prototype.

Stage 1: Ideation and Project Planning

In this stage, we planned the project and brainstormed problems, then sought a solution for the problem while confirming that it didn't already exist.

Stage 2: Prototype Development

In this stage, we used Figma to create a prototype of our app, searched for images on Google to complete the prototype, and found a name and logo for the app.

Stage 3: Project Finalization and Presentation

Upon completing the project, we used Canva to present our idea to others and explain why we chose this problem.

WHAT?

At the beginning, we didn't know how to distribute the tasks, and there were parts where we didn't agree. We learned how to make agreements to come to a consensus and work better as a team, distributing roles fairly. Our prototype has several screens: for registration and login, food reservation and pickup time selection, payment and order confirmation, and we also plan to add screens for scheduling orders and saving them to the calendar.

SO WHAT?

Our results are significant because we learned to work better as a team, and it was a new experience for us, especially working with Figma.

WHAT'S NEXT?

We want people to test the prototype and tell us what they liked and what we could improve. We plan to use this feedback to create the application later on.

JUDGES FEEDBACK

Your project tackles the challenge of long cafeteria queues, helping students get their meals on time without missing classes. The idea of pre-ordering meals through an app is innovative and practical, showcasing your problem-solving abilities. The collaborative use of Miro and Figma was well-executed, demonstrating excellent teamwork and technological skills. To further enhance your project, consider adding features like real-time queue updates or nutritional information for the meals.
