PROJECT SUMMARY

Our project seeks for children to learn English easily and quickly with a videogame called Happy Robot that is very easy to understand.

WHY?

It is difficult for young children to learn English and we wanted to do something that younger children would like.

HOW?

We made our game in scratch, we designed the game character in a drawing application and added it to the game, the game basically consists of showing you which is the correct option and you pass challenges

WHAT?

You enter the game and it presents you with a screen with options that the player must choose. A message appears if it is correct or incorrect and it scrolls through options to complete.

SO WHAT?

We discovered that small first grade children are learning to read so they may not read and we must use images or sounds so they can understand the game, we tested our game with first grade, second and third grade students at our school and they told us that they liked the game but that we should incorporate more animations because it didn't attract their attention much

WHAT'S NEXT?

We want to add more levels and see what lessons the first graders have to add to our prototype so the youngest students can use our game in their English classes.

JUDGES FEEDBACK

Your project to help children learn English through the Happy Robot video game is a great idea! You've made learning fun and engaging by using a game that's easy to understand. It's fantastic that you created the game in Scratch and designed your own character. Testing the game with first, second, and third graders was a smart move, and their feedback about adding more animations is very valuable. To make your game even better, consider incorporating more interactive elements and levels to keep young learners interested.
