In the robotics club, me and another student worked on designing and engineering a fast robot. Our goal was to make the fastest robot we could make and compete with the other robots.Â
We wanted to find out because it could be a chance for us to make a fast robot that could be used for competitions and stuff. With this project we could investigate more new strategies to help un design and engineer better.
The coach gave us a tip and that was when a small wheel makes the big wheel rotate, it would rotate slowly but if we make the big wheel makes the small wheel rotate, the wheel will rotate very fast. With that strategy, we attached a small wheel to the big wheel to the engine and make the small wheel to move. So we used that strategy and also attached long pieces to make the engine stable.
Our strategy worked better than expected. The wheels were lot faster than just normal wheels. But a problem was that the center of the robot was to heavy so we had to add something in the center part to make the robot stable.
I learned a new strategy. I learned to make the robot stable and how to connect the engine and the wheels. We could understand the science that is happening from the wheels and it was a good chance for me to learn more things.
I would make the robot lighter because ours was kind of heavy and caused the robot to move slower than it was supposed to be. I could try adding more wheels to make it more stable and see if it moves faster.
